However, there are certain designs that are very hard to implement or that could be implemented in a different, much easier way. Sometimes, the engineers know those alternatives. It would have been nice if those engineers had recommended some changes.

No. I’m very happy with the interactions and with them. They helped not only with this project, but they also had good suggestions about building a product video, which we put together on a shoestring budget. We ended up with good quality based on some of their recommendations. They were good partners and went above and beyond where we initially started. We had a very clever user interface. They were on budget and on time. Their project management and communications skills are good. They use Basecamp as a tool. That’s a product that I looked at maybe six years ago and started using. We brought it back into play, and I’m using it for about 10 of my projects.
How did they handle problems and issues that came up during development?
It was a partnership for the design of the application. They have an extremely clever marketing and user interface capability. Number one, they’re affordable, and number two, we went in with a crude idea of what the intuitive interface would be. They had strong and interesting recommendations for moving away from the "blood and guts" perspective that might typically come out of a medical device. Our intuitive interface doesn’t have opthosclerotic plaque or a heart shriveling to show what happens as people age, or they develop cardiovascular disease. But it's based on the concept of having a maple leaf change colors as it would happen during fall foliage.

The client is a professor at Rice University who also works with Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world. There was a need to create an application for consumers to track and gauge heart health. Mobisoft Infotech was selected to develop the app for Android and iOS. The work is continuing, and a third app will likely be created in 2014.

Mobisoft Infotech was hired to develop the client's platform for iOS and Android. Each app consists of 10 to 15 individual screens, and many complex visual graphs and animated dials.

A couple of things. Typically, the design is done by us, and then Mobisoft implements it. However, there are certain designs that are very hard to implement or that could be implemented in a different, much easier way. Sometimes, the engineers know those alternatives. It would have been nice if those engineers had recommended some changes.

Originally there were no plans to change the technology but given that their tool was built in jQuery, our developers suggested that an investment in AngularJS would pay dividends in the long run. A main challenge was that Worksoft desired generic components that would be reusable and able to fit with other applications. While this took more time to figure out, our team was dedicated to finding a solution that worked, ultimately deciding to use Angular2. Worksoft was new to the agile methodology process but given how closely the engineers had to work together, the constant scrum meetings served to easily align the teams. Worksoft® Inc. is an automation technology company serving large-scale enterprises worldwide.Their software is used to automate business process testing & discovery. Their main manag (more)ement tool was in need of a front-end and design refresh. The UruIT UX/UI design team worked closely with the Worksoft team to develop a new user-friendly interface that was more modern. Originally there were no plans to change the technology but given that their tool was built in jQuery, our developers suggested that an investment in AngularJS would pay dividends in the long run. A main challenge was that Worksoft desired generic components that would be reusable and able to fit with other applications. While this took more time to figure out, our team was dedicated to finding a solution that worked, ultimately deciding to use Angular2. Worksoft was new to the agile methodology process but given how closely the engineers had to work together, the constant scrum meetings served to easily align the teams. UruIT’s UX experts used a user-centric design approach. The project included competitors analysis with benchmarking techniques, creation of wireframes for the entire site. After wireframes were validated the team built prototypes, defining interactions and micro-interactions that were validated with usability tests run by the client. We didn't get what we wanted, and it cost way too much. We brought Bixlabs in to fix what our previous developers left us with and they really helped us out. Bixlabs provided web development and some iOS development. I knew Bixlabs's current project manager, Elisa Amarelle, from a prior engagement. I really enjoyed working with her so when it was time to find a new development team, I started with finding her.

The best service providers are the ones that can listen well and then bring a high degree of attention to the relationship. Bixlabs has done a great job with that. Every culture is different. Bixlabs has done a nice job of listening, putting a lot of energy into it, and they also take real pride in their work.
The risk for them is as development shops grow and get attention they tend not to do as well with client service. They don't do as well with the things that got them the success to begin with. I think that is not just confined to BIX Labs, but every service provider that's overseas. They start servicing the U.S., and they double in size, but then the quality drops off or the attention drops off. They'll have to confront that as they grow.
From a development perspective, they brought extreme strength to the team. Their angular.js and node experience are second to none. I think that is not just confined to BIX Labs, but every service provider that's overseas. They start servicing the U.S., and they double in size, but then the quality drops off or the attention drops off. They'll have to confront that as they grow.

From a development perspective, they brought extreme strength to the team. Their angular.js and node experience are second to none. Further, they were able to automate much of our integration and continuous deployment, saving us time and money. This is an outstanding group: the best at any price.
