North South is an excellent digital media development firm. Technically the firm has as complete a range of design and development skills as any top tier firm in the US. They are especially impressive in their reliability, timeliness and communication. Communication is particularly remarkable given their primary physical office location in Lima. This was an initial concern for my company but quickly was forgotten.
There are no major issues or areas for improvement. NorthSouth did not have prior experience working in digital music and thus was not knowledgable about digital music industry, technologies and databases matters. We were aware of this limitation and it did not affect the success of the project.
NorthSouth has an excellent project management process that utilizes regular communication cycles, including daily check-in. Our project was time sensitive and very complex. We requested a daily check-in for long periods to identify and mitigate any potential problems. This helped ensure an almost problem-free project (MediaNet engaged NorthSouth for 15 months over a dozen projects.
NorthSouth developed the infrastructure for a music royalty platform and rights holder database included a content management user interface application. This is a high scale platform the had multiple product requirements ranging from database development, content management systems (CMS) and reporting tools.
We have worked for many years for K12 Inc. developing courses including art, games, software and QA. However, I have noticed that content in the online product could benefit from more careful transfer of content ( sometime there are typos/spelling errors).
