New Haircut
3 projects in IT InfrastructureXO Group is a $375M publicly traded company. They own several websites including theknot.com, thebump.com and thenest.com, among other owned properties. XO contracted us to replatform the (more)ir entire suite of products. This was a 9-month engagement where we performed a comprehensive audit of tech & resources in order to recommend the application architecture & supporting infrastructure. We then led the design & build out of all of those services in a significant platform migration, using the latest and most fully scalable, performant tech on the market. (less)
Surgical Specialties is a Johnson & Johnson owned medical device company. They have a portfolio of products they offer to the medical world, with their flagship product being Quill. Their (more) marketing team, through a relationship with The Matchstick Group, selected New Haircut to redesign and relaunch their corporate website as well as the Quill Device (quilldevice.com) and BioSentry (biosentrysystem.com) websites back in 2013. Then again, in 2015, they asked us to redesign the sites again to make them responsive and address some major company changes and objectives. (less)
The guys @ NHC are great. Love their design team and the project management team helps make sure everything stays on track and on schedule
Turnaround on the initial project proposals could be a little faster
Quickly and efficiently. We noticed some things that were missed during a round of changes and we were soooo close to the deadline. The NHC team basically worked around the clock to complete the fixes so that we could meet our deliverable date.
I've worked with NHC several times, but the most recent project was a corporate website overhaul with new branding, a couple of cool search tools and a customer portal with downloadable materials
New Haircut is always willing to work with us on meeting our clients' needs--from the intricately complex to the mind-numbingly simple, they get the job done with excellent customer service and responsiveness. It is a pleasure to work with the team because we know that they'll deliver a high quality product that meets the requirements of even the most difficult client.
The team at New Haircut is spread across several time zones. This can sometimes make the turn-around on a quick change a little longer than expected.
I worked closely with the team on a very complicated development project. Problems and issues came up frequently, and they handled the problems with patience and precision.
In particular, the development of the "Find a Product" tool for the SSC website was excruciatingly complicated--requiring several versions of various databases as well as design changes that came up after development. After months of detailed work, they launched the tool and there have been zero issues reported. All of the other websites that we've worked on together have also benefited from the patient attention to detail that New Haircut provides.
225AM had a problem they realized needed solving — the process of getting a job for college kids hadn’t evolved in decades. They needed a partner that could help design a solution for to (more)day. We were first selected because of our ability to create a well-positioned brand, along with a beautiful, intuitive interface. Afterward, 225AM selected us to then architect and build the web app and all associated back-end technology. 225AM is currently being piloted at Stanford, UPenn, Berkeley & Drexel. (less)
Twenty months and counting of working with New Haircut. Over that time the client/vendor relationship has become a real partnership. What’s the difference - partnerships are earned through trust and respect. The team as a whole is professional, dedicated, thorough, engaged, creative and the kind of problem solvers you want on your side. Now go away so I can have them to myself.
We had the opportunity to work with New Haircut's team, elbow-to-elbow, for several weeks. In a perfect world, we could have more opportunities (and budget) to work under the same roof because we saw how much more can be accomplished.
There were several instances where we were preparing for a school pilot where New Haircut had to quickly and succinctly deal with issues that only tend to come up during live tests -- they were all handled extremely well.
New Haircut branded, designed, architected and built an HR platform that enables college kids to more efficiently work with their university career development departments when trying to get a job.
We helped TradingTable prove the need for efficiency and price transparency within the foodservice industry by creating a first-of-kind cross-device inventory & order management platform. They were great with helping us think about what we didn't know in order to really begin building our vision.
I couldn't give one specific issue. They were and continue to be excellent partners.
Prompt, efficient, and thorough. They regularly saw problems before they existed.
New Haircut took our idea from "napkin" to product. It is hard to imagine a scenario where our company would be where it is today without their help, hard work, and support, through the good times and the tough times.
Keas is a $20M health & wellness company with customers the likes of American Express, Pfizer, Safeway, Land O' Lakes. They have over 2M end-customers relying on their health & wellness plat (more)form to support their healthy lifestyle goals, doctor appointments and activities. Keas sought out New Haircut initially to help them create a pitch deck that would be used to close a $35M Series C with VC groups Sequoia Capital, General Catalyst and others. After a successful engagement there, Keas approached us to then apply our UX and UI creative capabilities to overhaul the design of their platform. (less)
"NewHaircut raised our design and UX game, challenging assumptions and bringing consumer insights from product areas far different and complementary to our own, that improved our thinking about the consumer experience." -- Josh Stevens
Finding a way to deliver additional development capabilities would enable Keas to have 1 dedicated, go-to partner for all outsourced creative and development projects.
New Haircut was an exceptional partner - they would take our raw input and requests and deliver design thinking and experience that elevated way beyond our expectations or in-house capabilities.
A Series C Pitch Deck and UX & UI design for our health & wellness platform.

The New Haircut team what able manifest our complex value proposition in a visually compelling, beautifully executed website.

PeekYou has a suite of products that enable customers to track and protect their online identity, as well as search for others. A board member of PeekYou recommended the company work with (more) us after seeing the work we'd done for another portfolio client of theirs. Our initial engagement was to overhaul the brand identity as well as visual design of 3 core pages from their flagship website, PeekYou.com. We additionally provided a brand style guide and UI kit so their internal team could implement our art direction throughout their properties. (less)
The New Haircut took the time to first understand our business and the value proposition we are trying to bring to the market. Combined then with goals for our specific project, they were able to provide an exciting design concept that resonated with us immediately. From there it was only some minor iterations to a arrive at a complete and functional design and website.
They could "push the envelope" a little more on the creativity. They asked for some examples of designs we like, which every design shop does, but sometimes they seemed to use them as design requirements instead of a starting point from which to innovate.
Change requests and bug fixes were handled quickly and transparently. There no time wasted explaining away issues or trying to dissuade us (the customer) b/c they wanted to move on.
New Haircut did a complete redesign and css/html coding for the PeekYou.com home page and blog. They did the entire design and css/html coding for our PeopleCheckPro website.
eChalk was one of the first to bring a K-12 Learning Management System (LMS) to market and have dominated since. Their leadership team approached New Haircut to help them redesign the UX & U (more)I of their web & and mobile apps. Our work was received with great acclaim when recently piloted to their most active school district admin customers. (less)
We were thrilled with the thoughtful UX and UI of New Haircut’s design, as well as their professional and timely approach.
Not an area for improvement, but we wished we had the opportunity to leverage New Haircut's development resources but unfortunately were already working with another vendor.
They challenged our design thinking which was impressive given how long some people inside eChalk had been involved in educational related markets.
New Haircut was tasked with helping us concept out an overhaul to our K-12 Learning Management System. Under extremely tight deadlines, they partnered with us and helped us deliver a redesign pilot application to some of our most longstanding customers.
Appreciation Engine offers a platform to enable brands like Universal Music Group understand their customers and create better interactions. New Haircut doesn't just provide brilliant design they also guide you through a potentially confusing process with humor, experience & empathy. These guys know exactly what they're doing.
The pricing was initially a little confusing but we got it sorted.
We got stuck on 1 slide and the team there helped us push through with great design thinking and innovation.

FullStack created a very powerful application in a relatively short amount of time. I've tried to work with partners in the past to realize this vision, but FullStack was the only group who came through and delivered. They were willing to go deep on the partnership, learn about the industry, and do whatever it took to get this new product created. We've run several successful campaigns on the application well and they were able to optimize and scale the app quickly to respond to some very high traffic loads.
We did have an issue with one of their developers during the project who moved on to another position. FullStack was able to switch gears and replace him without too much of an impact on the project.
There were a number of changing and evolving requirements that came up during the project. FullStack was able to solve these problems as they came up to keep the system running.

Working with FullStack has exceeded our expectations in every way. The team has been an absolute joy to work throughout the duration of this project. Our initial thinking was to just use FullStack to create the basic version of the application and then hire an internal team to take things over from there. However, we felt so good about the value that FullStack was contributing to this project and our company on a daily basis that we decided to keep the team involved. FullStack has created a product for us that has been transformative to the way we deliver value to our customers and we cannot recommend them highly enough. Their deep experience in building mobile and web applications has propelled us forward by years and positioned us for greater success in the future. Our clients have been blown away by the product that we created together with FullStack.
Cost was initially a factor for us, but it is clear that you get what you pay for. FullStack has been worth their price.
Communication was great. Expectations were managed very well. They've clearly done this before. They met all the deadlines and milestone delivery dates with ease.
They helped us move our desktop product suite onto the web and positioned us to deliver mobile applications in the future.

What did the service provider do well?
FullStack created a very powerful application in a relatively short amount of time. I've tried to work with partners in the past to realize this vision, but FullStack was the only group who came through and delivered. They were willing to go deep on the partnership, learn about the industry, and do whatever it took to get this new product created. We've run several successful campaigns on the application well and they were able to optimize and scale the app quickly to respond to some very high traffic loads.
